Thrilled to share that my original Bristlecone Pine Tree Cloak was worn on the red carpet in Beverly Hills this month at the BMI Pop Awards! Hozier’s #1 pop song, Too Sweet, received an award for one of the Most-Performed Songs of the Year. The cloak was worn by Stuart Johnson, co-writer and musician on this hit song with Andrew Hozier, ✨✨✨

It was great - ✨ unreal really ✨- to see Stuart wearing one of my all-time favorite textile works in this prestigious setting.
The floor length cloak is based on the colors of the tree bark and each section of the cloak was individually pieced.

Congratulations to Stuart for your artistry! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and thank you for choosing to wear my handmade & one of a kind garment to celebrate in! I appreciate you 🙌🏻

Death Valley Badwater Basin | 47” x 60” | fabric | 2023

The Death Valley Badwater Basin art quilt is based on my photo from 2021, which I took early in the morning to (attempt to) beat the heat in Death Valley. I was fascinated with the texture of the crunchy salty foreground and stitched/inserted sections of lace into the quilt blocks to create a subtle three-dimensional crystallized-salt reference. This quilt is lovely in its subtleties and color palette.

The Spring Equinox, officially the first day of spring and when the rays of the sun will shine directly on the equator over the Pacific Ocean. Here in Southern California our local trees have been slow to emerge from winter, likely due to ongoing rain and snow. I am observing the seasonal unfolding of leaf and branch structures
