This 1915 Orinoco mahogany partners desk was a long project and she's finally done! It needed repairs to the drawers, drawer slides, frame and top.
I stripped, sanded, stained with Old Masters Gel Stain in antique walnut, and used Bona Woodline Poly for the finish.
The customer is supplying new k***s.

What interesting things have you found in your antique furniture?
I found Dr. Thomas O. McCutcheon's business card in the 1905 partners desk I'm refinishing.
I learned he was born in 1879 and died in 1959. Highland Park is part of Upper Darby, PA. Notice his office hours (!) And it says "Bell Telephone" but has no number. Were all calls operator assisted?
I wonder if the desk belonged to the doctor or a patient. The desk was in an antique home on Plum Island (Newburyport) MA.

What interesting things have you found in your furniture?
I found this business card of Dr. Thomas O. McCutcheon of Highland Park (Upper Darby) PA in the antique partner desk I'm refinishing. The doctor was born in 1879 and died in November of 1959. Notice his office hours and the "Bell Telephone" but no phone number.
The desk was left in an antique home on Plum Island Newburyport, MA. I wonder if it belonged to the doctor or one of his patients?

Working on the glass sliding door cabinet and stripping and sanding the mahogany partner desk. Luckily it was only 70 degrees, not the 90s as predicted!
