When I got married, I really got in touch with my crafty side: designing Save the Dates and wine bottle labels, making programs, and lollipop candy bouquets (for the rehearsal) and a 3 tiered wedding cake for guests to drop their gifts into. It was a lot of fun! I began sharing my crochet with friends (as gifts or bringing things into work to crochet during lunch) and was encouraged to sell my ite
ms on Etsy and in 2009, Little Lemon Crochet was born (named after my Boston Terrier Liz Lemon). I quickly realized, however, that sustaining a full-time crochet business was difficult; there was no way I could make blankets fast enough to keep up with demand! I took a break from Etsy while I was pregnant and for a while after the birth of my daughter. On a trip to a local craft store, for some items needed at work, I stumbled upon items to make hair accessories. For a good week after this chance encounter, I wondered if I would be able to make hair accessories. I finally went back and got a few basic supplies to get me started. I took over a corner of my kitchen table and got to work. I couldn't believe how easy it was for me and how pretty things were that I made! For the next month, I worked out of my kitchen (that was November 2011) and the following month, my husband re-configured our small office to better suit my crafting needs. I worked for the next several months and decided I wanted to try my hand at selling items face to face and set out for my 1st craft show that May. Over the course of the next year, the products evolved (they continue to do so today), I gained a true appreciation for all things handmade, and I made some amazing friends. My business has two main tenets:
"Life, more colorful" This is also our motto. We make products that make your life more colorful. Hair accessories should not only be practical, but they should also be fun! Quality. Not all hair accessories are made alike. At Little Lemon Boutique, we pride ourselves on making a quality product that we stand behind. A lot of time has been spent searching for high quality ribbons, fabrics and embellishments, that we purchase from all over the United States. You can rest assured that you are getting the best from Little Lemon Boutique. I often get requests for custom items and am happy to talk with you regarding a custom piece! You can also find us pretty much anywhere: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Massachusetts craft events, and my tiny studio in Lowell, Massachusetts. Happy Shopping! Rosa Taormina
