The story of Golf Drip

My friend and I were three years out of college, both working corporate finance 9–5s.
We both got into golf around the same time and had always talked about starting a business.
What we loved most about golf was the escape.
After sitting in front of computers all day, it was our way to slow down, get outside, and clear our heads.

On one of our last rounds of 2023, we seriously talked about starting something around golf gear.
The idea kept getting louder… until we finally pulled the trigger.
We decided to sell golf headcovers from Alibaba.

The problem with the covers from alibaba is that we weren’t all in.
The products weren’t our own designs and deep down we knew that with these items we were just chasing quick money.
Over 6 months we had less than 10 sales, 3 of them being from friends and family.
At this point we had a choice - either scrap everything, or actually build a brand the right way.

We knew we still wanted to
continue on with building a golf brand, but only if we did it right.
So we decided to scrap what we were doing and do things the right way.
We invested in a real logo, a custom font, and started designing our own gear.
We hopped on calls multiple times a week, spent full days at Starbucks, and obsessed over the brand and the vision.
We also decided to document the entire journey - which led us to renting a studio and going in on content for the brand.

We’ve now found manufacturers, finalized the gear we plan to launch, and have samples on the way.
