basic. turned 10!!!! 🎂
a decade ago, i couldn’t have imagined what we’d all build together. from a pop-up in our garage to our beautiful home(s) on 2nd avenue north, i’ve been humbled, expanded, and changed by the community who have shown up here over the years. from the bottom of my heart, thank yall for blowing a gal’s wildest dreams out of the water.
a lot has changed over the years, but our why has been the same from the start: for us, people are always greater than profits. not only is every garment, good, and gift on our shelves made ethically by folks paid fairly in dignified workplaces, we also invest a portion of every sale in groups working for *basic* human rights.
to our makers + brands, our teammates past and present, our shared shop families, and every one of you who has walked through our doors, ordered online, or introduced us to a friend: you are what makes this sweet + spicy small business so much more than a store. thank you, thank you, thank you.
