Love begets love. Today I’m honoring the national strike by slowing down and being intentional. I’m organizing my studio, staying warm, cooking for my family, and calling and messaging my senators to keep pressure on what matters right now—real change and accountability at DHS. If I need something today, I’m choosing to buy it from a small business.

I’m actively working to better align my family and my business with this purpose. I’m not worried about unfollows. If this doesn’t sit right with you, this probably isn’t your space. I’m also getting more intentional about where my money goes. Amazon subscriptions are already canceled, and we’re choosing to support businesses that actually care and align with our values. If you know companies doing this well, tell me—I want to support them.

I’ve been pretty quiet here since the last national election. Not because I don’t care — but because I care deeply, and the world has felt unbearably heavy.

I’ve asked myself how to show up talking about a small business, or the joyful things I make, when fear, cruelty, and division feel so loud. Silence felt easier. Safer. But it hasn’t felt right.

So today, I’m choosing to trust my own eyes and choosing to speak — not from a political place, but a moral one. Here it is, friends:
• ICE needs to be pulled off our streets and out of our neighborhoods.
• Our president needs to act in the best interest of the country he serves.
• This administration needs to stop lying and gaslighting the public.
• All of the files need to be released.

I know there’s so much more. That’s part of the problem — the constant flood meant to disorient us, wear us down, and make us feel powerless.

I’m here. Paying attention. Breaking my silence. Adding my voice — as small as it may be — to the voices of the millions of Americans who don’t agree with a lot of what is happening in our country right now.
