“She looks amazing.”
“Absolutely amazing.”
“Amazing fabric.”
Apparently my vocabulary left the building the minute I saw this dress 😂

But honestly… when a client trusts me with a vision THIS good, I get excited every single time. From the fabric to the final fit, this custom look came together beautifully and LaDonna wore it exactly how it deserved to be worn.

And yes… I really did ask if she was AI for a second because LOOK AT HER 😭✨

Custom clothing is different when it’s designed specifically for you.

Sewn for Sunday 💅🏾

Used some fabric from my stash and turned it into this week’s Sunday outfit. And honestly, I really do love being able to make exactly what I want to wear.

There are moments as a parent that you never forget… and this will always be one of them.

One week ago today, my daughter graduated from Duke University with a double PhD. Two hooding ceremonies. Years of sacrifice, pressure, long nights, disappointments, victories, and perseverance wrapped into one unforgettable weekend.

There were moments during the journey where they tried to convince her to “master out,” but she stayed the course anyway. She stood firm in who she is and what she came there to do.

And while not everyone could physically be there, every single one of us showed up however we could…in person, through livestreams, FaceTimes, prayers, encouragement, and love.

We are all so incredibly proud of you. 🤍

Formal alterations are not just about taking something in. It’s about structure, balance, and making the garment move with you.

LaDonna trusted me through multiple fittings while her body changed leading up to her event and this is the result.

Clean. Intentional. Finished.

If your outfit isn’t fitting the way it should… it just hasn’t been tailored properly yet.

As a designer, time matters to me.
Not just mine but my clients’ too.

So when I show up somewhere at opening time, I expect opening time.

I’ve been hearing about Magic City Fabric and wanted to come see what it offers Birmingham’s sewing community especially for those of us working in custom clothing and formalwear.

Didn’t quite get in the door this time, but I’ll be back.

Because I’m curious. Is this a spot for designers or more for everyday/home sewing?

Either way, we’re going to find out.

Stay tuned.

This is one of those messages that sat with me long after service ended.

There’s something about being under leadership that doesn’t just make you feel good but makes you better. That calls you higher. That reminds you who you are when life, people, or even your own thoughts try to make you forget.

I love my church. I love being covered, challenged, and cared for in a way that doesn’t let me stay small or silent when I know better.

And maybe this wasn’t for everybody…
but it was for me.

So I’m sharing it just in case somebody else needed the reminder too.

Y’all did good picking this one… real good.

These pants are about to be in heavy rotation. I love this color, and I don’t make things just to wear them once.

Now… it might not be back-to-back 😂 but just know it’s getting worn again. I’ve got pieces I’ve been wearing for years.

Not everything you see online is light and polished…and honestly, that’s okay.

Some seasons, you need support.
Some seasons, you need accountability.
And some seasons… you just need to say no without explaining yourself.

I’m learning to honor all of it. Between Nadia and I holding each other accountable and a conversation I had with Eunice about a month or so ago, these ladies have helped to change the trajectory of my life and I love them both for it ❤️

There’s something about reaching back into your own work and realizing… you were already doing what needed to be done.

Not rushing or chasing trends just creating pieces that last.

College Day at church called for a Duke Mom moment today 💙

I love that for me.

I might start showing more of what I wear on Sundays, made or not. We’ll see 👀

Some patterns stay with you.
Not because they’re trendy, but because they still fit your life.

This dress has walked with me through more than one season. I made it years ago, wore it in a different chapter, and I still wanted to make it again.

This time, it was remade with intention.
Chosen for presence.
Worn for church.

There’s something beautiful about showing up thoughtfully, even in what we wear.
