The Bison Booties studio is empty and our hearts are full. 🥰 My daughter Kya (the original Bison Booties baby the pattern is traced from) and I selected 3 local organizations to donate the remaining inventory to. We selected places close to our hearts that support and care for mamas and babies. This morning we delivered the first two to Bismarck’s Women’s Care Center, and Sanford Pediatric Hospital in Bismarck. We have plans to donate the final box of booties to children in the Morton County foster care system.

Oh the memories! I had bangs. And I had recently donated my hair. Bison Booties was just 2 years old, and I was still making every pair in our rustic unfinished basement. My business was growing quickly! And that's not all. Shortly after this video, we found out we were expecting our second child, so I made the decision to contract with local women to help create Bison Booties. And that was one of the very best decisions ever! I made amazing connections with incredibly talented local women and I will forever be grateful to their dedication, hard work, and friendship. I also decided to leave Etsy and start my own website (what an adventure!). Sincere thanks to Pride of Dakota for sponsoring this video and helping me tell the Bison Booties story in the early days.

Thank you all. I’m absolutely blessed by all your orders, kind notes, and support. We’ve completed a full circle and when I think back, it’s still all such a dream.
💭 I started Bison Booties in 2010 with a humble little drawer of inventory and a hopeful heart, and I’m preparing to close it with this humble little drawer of Bison Booties and a hopeful heart. As I post this, my 12-year-old daughter (her baby feet were the base for the Bison Booties pattern) is next to me cutting quilt pieces from my stockpiled mountain of Bison Booties scrap fabric. And my heart just bursts. This is what I’ve dreamed of and it’s here, it’s here 🥰 I was a quilter before Bison Booties (that’s a whole other story waiting to be told) and I have big plans to return to my hobby and it’s double sweet having my daughter along.

The time has come, my friends. 🥰 After much prayerful consideration, we have decided to close Bison Booties. I am overjoyed to have more time to spend with our four amazing kids, and my wonderful husband.
But oh ... oh oh oh. What a bittersweet this decision this is. Bison Booties was a long and amazingly splendid journey and I have loved every minute of it. Over ELEVEN years ... from the humble beginnings with scrap fabric and tracing my daughter's little baby feet in our unfinished basement, to receiving national media attention and seeing Bison Booties on hit TV shows. From wondering if these cozy little baby shoes would be useful to anyone else, to sending Bison Booties to every state and over 25 countries! I sincerely treasure each friend (and customer) I've made through Bison Booties connections. Thank you.
