A little info about me and how I plan on starting off small. First of all thanks for all the love & support! I'm so honored and excited to see everyone who wants a skirt or top ASAP.
My only set back is time (aka 4 little ones and demanding so time to sew is limited). Until I get a few kids in school I'll only be able to take a limited amount of orders then once we get into a routine with school I'm really hoping to have more time to sew. So thanks for being patient with me & trust that I really would love to sew all the cute things today.
I went to college for Fashion Merchandise and business so I'm thrilled to finally be able to use these skills.
After years (especially in my 30's till now) of shopping and being frustrated about the quality and fit I started thinking more & more about making clothing myself. Like myself and the kids and most people we are not just one size. We measure all over the size chart. For example: Aubrey is 5 years old she has a tiny waist and is tall so even finding leggings that fit properly is a challenge. Oliver is my meaty boy and needs a roomy pant for cloth diapers and his muscular legs, but store bought pants are way too long and trip him to walk. I won't even bore you with my fit issues π. Lol Sewing my own clothes to fit me and for the kids has been really rewarding.
This is why I'm Sunny Day CUSTOM Boutique because I'll ask for measurements to make exactly what fits you or your kids. I sew with mostly knit fabric so it stretchy and soft. The girls skirts with either a short or leggings underneath is my main focus to start off with and for that I'll need a hip and waist measurement. It should start fit your child for a good season & probably longer if your kids are like mine and seem to grow straight up in these fast growing years. (Aubrey,Hutton, & Oliver have almost the exact same waist measurements).
So I might occasionally have a pre-made item, but I plan to focus on custom orders and it will take a little time. Faster order time if you come hold a baby while I sew. π. I'm only 1/2 joking.
I'm a little shy to post pics of myself, but this dress pattern was high on my list to make even though I know strapless dresses from the store or strapless tops look absolutely awful on me. I went for the high low skirt option and made size adjustments to fit me. Anyway, I'm very happy with the end result and hope to make more in the future. It just goes to show a well fitting dress can work in a style that might not have worked before.
I'll try to get some pics up of what I'll be making to sell, but the cover pic is a great example of the Skirt with leggings.
Thanks everyone and I'm excited to start this adventure! βοΈ
