Inspired by the incredibly talented people at , we have a special announcement:
We will no longer be accepting AI-generated fashion images with project proposals! Not only is the process unethical and makes me sad (wow, I should be able to stop right there…) but robots are absolutely TERRIBLE at simulating the drape of fabric, nor can they understand gravity’s effect on fabric. AI-generated fashion images are completely fantastical (and I mean that in a bad way), which sets all of us up for failure from the very beginning— Failure on our part to be able to deliver what the client is expecting, and failure on the client’s part in expecting an unrealistic outcome.
Please hire artists to do art. I would 100% rather see a poorly scribbled-on photograph, several chopped up Vogue editorials taped back together, or a Barbie with fabric scraps hot-glued to her body than ever see another creepily-smooth, 47-layer, unidentifiable lace-patterned bu****it internet dress ever again.
Maybe it’s perimenopause, maybe it’s Maybelline, but I’m in my spicy era, now. Ok, bye! ✌🏻
