Just saw this wonderful exhibit at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philly! Learned some new info about the processes of fabric making. For example, did you think that the manufacture of Denim Jeans had become quite harmful to the environment? Turns out the dyes used now to create the shading (that fashionistas desire) are synthetic, and the many washings require overuse of and deposit chemicals into the water. Even using natural plant fibers to fabricate cloth, as we did eons ago, depleted the plants. So then, what is the answer? You got it! Repair, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle!
