A family road trip through the White Mountains with my 93 year old grandmother and a few days we’ll always be grateful for.

She is still sharp as a tack and spent much of the drive sharing memories of New Hampshire and stories about our family, including my grandfather, his cousins, and their time living in Littleton and Sugar Hill. NH. It was so special watching Harry listen to her and ask questions, and even better hearing the two of them talk the entire ride about garnets, old trucks, wildlife, and just about everything else.

We rode the Cog Railway to the top of Mount Washington, stopped for apple cider donuts, met my Parents for dinner, watched On Golden Pond, saw the first leaves turn color 🍁 and enjoyed some incredible mountain sunsets. Then, just when the trip already felt pretty perfect, a double rainbow appeared over the cabin.

More than anything, I’m thankful Harry had this time with his great grandmother to hear these stories directly from her, learn a little more about where our family came from, and make some new memories of their own.

And somewhere along the way, Grandma may have gotten a very quiet little preview of something big we’ve been working on up north… 🫎🇺🇸🏔️

🎃 GIVEAWAY ALERT! 💀 Pumpkin Boy was caught sneaking the molasses cookies from my best friend Amy Bruni new book, Cuisine to Kill For… and I honestly don’t blame him.

These might be some of the best cookies I’ve ever had. They’re giving my grandmother’s famous New England gingerbread cookies a serious run for their money, which is not something I say lightly.
