Went to an auction this past weekend and I got hyper focused on this crate. I actually thought from afar it was a stack, like trays, which I was totally cool with. I waited and waited finally after being pushed aside for several gazillion rounds it came up for bid! It came back to the shop with me. How surprised was I when I found out it was a Puffer Hubbard Mfg Co folding box! BONUS 💪🏽

Awhile back while on a pickin’ trip I met a woman who made handbags out of Navajo rugs etc. I told her my interest in vintage textile and she said..”oooh then you’ll likely love all this..” and showed me a grip of deco’s trusted vintage work aprons!!!! Of course I bought them. There was no way I was leaving them behind. About a week ago sittin’ in the shop I started making a prototype! A gent came in after buying over at my pal and he wanted to buy one! So why not make a bunch of unique koozies for your cans! Very sturdy hand stitched. Some@habe two digit phone numbers. This is our first run. Second run following! {my other prototype gifted to my buddy and my first good koozie gifted to my pal .jay} DM to snag one

In 1970 {I was 7} my mom opened a Mexican pottery and wrought-iron shop in MarVista, CA It was a small space on Washington Blvd but yet big enough to hold her dreams. As a family we would drive over to Tijuana & Ensenada where she would go from street vendor to street vendor and make her selections.
She had made some good connections that would bring out the old pottery from the 40’s and 50’s for her to look at with her hands and eyes. The way should would handle the pottery always sat beautifully with me. Even as young as I was I could feel her joy.
I loved watching her speak spanish, laugh, select and negotiate. My dad would lean against our station wagon in his white t shirt and Levi’s watching proudly while having a cerveza with the men looking on.
So of course while in San Pedro, CA {which has a rich mexican culture} at an estate sale I could not pass on scooping vintage 1950’s mexican pottery! My mom’s shop only lasted two years. I truly think she was a head of her time, because now…well everyone would want her pottery and wrought iron goods. But her dreams were also bigger than that shop…she dreamt for big things for me and my siblings. Her shop was the first stepping stone to all I have achieved! Not our usual items to source, but come on this one {and more} were just to damn good. AVAILABLE

We are so excited about this new addition to the shop. Our good pal {who also does rhe best repairs so hit him up} made these custom wood carriers for us using selvedge denim and vintage canvas. We absolutely love how they turned out. We are so lucky to have such talented friends that can see our vision & create goods to complement the vintage goods we find! These are loaded with wood, mossy sticks and 100 year old pitchy pine for starting your fire! Great housewarming gift or to gift to your camping pals. We have a limited amount. We have 5 with leather straps and 5 with denim straps.

These are some long drawers that we pulled out of the workshop on the old farm in Idaho. It’s the same farm we pulled that multi drawer unit from. These random drawers were from another workbench that was completely built into the wall. While working in our shop I noticed that a few drawers had candy shop labels on them! I hadn’t even noticed them. Brown & Haley Company in Tacoma, WA was established in 1912 {and still in operation} and is also the creator of Almond Roca! Assuming these are original shipping boxes of chocolate. It’s alway so cool to see stuff like this! The other end has the same pull handle as the all the other drawers. These are AVAILABLE.

I got it out! This beaut was 12’ long and behind a wood post that could not be removed. I made a cut straight down to create a 9’ piece and a 3’ piece. As with 80% of cubby type pieces there’s alway drawers that somehow wander off. The drawers I was able to gatherslide beautifully. Original hardware too. Nonetheless, the piece still looks fantastic! The paper tag on the back shows this piece was made in 1912. A gorgeous local piece off the last standing farm on a country road surrounded by new homes 😒this farm will also be demolished! This piece is AVAILABLE & now into the next find!

So many drawers…over 24…that we pulled out of a work shop on a massive farm that has unfortunately been sold to a builder and will soon become a slew of homes 🤦🏽‍♀️ Next task on Monday is to get the 12’ beast out of there. The challenge? The big round post almost pressed up against it that’s holding up the beam of the workshop. Easy peasy 😉 as always the found goods are available!

I was able to get onto an amazing property via a lead from a good pal. Ya never really know what to expect. What a great pick indeed. Spent several hours (with some help from my niece) trying to get that stepback cabinet outta that barn. Completely edged under the barn beam! While I didn’t get it the first day, I returned the second day in the morning (25 degrees) with my much taller husband who helped me chisel the beam and we were able to finally get the cabinet and the bottom piece out! We found a lot of other goods as well. For the most part I’m on my own diggin’, tuggin’, loadin’ and unloadin’ So the extra help on this one was so appreciated. The son isn’t always able to be in Idaho to head out on these picks but is always encouraging his mom to dig, dig, dig! The shop is refreshed with goods. Swing on through and say hey and have a cold beer outta our vintage kegerator with us!

Imagine this gorgeous French {pre-WW2} workbench as your kitchen island or better yet you’re an actual wood craftsman! This 6’ 5” workbench has been used in the USA for 45 years by a restoration craftsman. and was brought over from France. The French owner acquired it from ébéniste {an artisan of high-end, decorative wood furniture, a French tradition of exceptional craftsmanship}. This workbench is absolutely stunning. It was said that it has remained inside a workshop for its entire 125+ years. Three drawers and a killer vise.

Not only did we find one vintage French workbench, we found TWO! The gentleman used these for at least 45 years forgot craft of wood working and antique restoration. He bought them while he lived in Paris and brought them to the US. The patina, the wear and the stories make this piece, and the other, so special. The slate wood shelf, the drawer and the simplicity of the French vise…perfection.
