Sigrid Studios LLC Handmade vintage paper craft and jewelry boutique. That person was my Aunt Sigrid, who was the most inspiring person I've ever known.

As a child, I was blessed to have someone in my life who made me the center of her world, who loved me unconditionally and who taught me that creativity was a gift to be shared with others. She was a talented artist, a scrapbooker (long before there was an entire industry dedicated to memory keeping!) and a paper crafting genius. I spent many happy hours with her, sitting at my grandmother's dinin

g room table making wonderful origami creatures, paper dolls, and intricate scherenschnitte snowflakes. I cherish the memories of the time I spent creating with my aunt, and I owe my love of crafting to her. Sigrid Studios is named to honor her memory. I create vintage-inspired paper crafts and jewelry. I have always been fascinated with old schoolbooks, magazines, buttons, keys, and costume jewelry. Nothing makes me happier than digging through a pile of old books and trinkets at the flea market, searching for treasures, and nothing inspires me more than turning them into something unique and new to share with my customers!

Yesterday’s vintage fabric and linen haul! We attended the Greater Springfield Indoor Garage Sale, followed by a visit to STD East. I scored a couple of vintage bedsheets, some 1940s French fabric, a Christmas tablecloth, some red floral print napkins, and a set of crocheted lace cafe curtains. We have the best thrifting here in Springfield, MO, with SO MANY antique malls, thrift stores, and flea markets! I always look for antique/thrift stores when I travel, but honestly, I’ve found all of the best stuff here at home!

I’ve been working on de-stashing my massive box of vintage linens, which means that I’m also restocking my shop with these beautifully curated slow stitch/mixed media inspiration kits. Each one contains gorgeous vintage floral fabrics cut from vintage tablecloths, bed sheets, pillow cases, and a few pieces of new designer quilting fabric as well. I’ve also included vintage doily and embroidery bits, laces, trims, buttons and beads. These kits are great for both stitching projects and journal making! If you want to be more creative in the new year, this is for you! Keep an eye on my shop; I’ll be listing them soon.
