The way you understand children—their questions, their emotions, those quiet moments during drop-off—helped guide every page.

Now, seeing this book used as a gentle tool to help little ones understand what we do all day… and to make those morning goodbyes just a little easier—it means everything.

🧑‍🚀 Meeting Cady, a real-life astronaut mom and fellow alum, was incredibly inspiring!

During her fireside chat—beautifully facilitated by Sabrina at Boston Globe Media’s —one moment stayed with me.

When asked, “What’s the scariest part about going to space?” she paused and said:
“before you leave, even though you’re going to see your family again, it’s that hug, that last hug.”

I thought daycare drop-off hugs were hard… but saying goodbye to her young kids for a 6-month work trip to another planet? A whole different level.

And yet, she shared—so unapologetically—that she loves her family deeply and loves doing science in space. When there was a chance to extend her mission, she was excited. She’s fully in her element.

The spark in her eyes was a powerful reminder: we hold multiple identities—and we’re allowed to honor all of them.

Find the people who remind you who you are.

Creating “Mommy Goes to Work® in Outer Space” has been a dream since day one—I even designed the astronaut mom character.

Maybe, just maybe, one day I’ll bring that dream to life 💛🚀✨

This Bring Your Child to Work Day, we had the joy of celebrating with an incredible company—Wellington Management—right in the heart of downtown Boston. Little ones and their grown-ups gathered for a cozy story time, danced along to the Mommy Goes to Work song (yes—we made a song!), and shared so many bright, joyful moments together.  They took home a copy of the Mommy Goes to Work® book, along with custom stickers featuring the company’s logo to decorate the workspace in the pages —turning every story into their own.

These are the moments we love most—where work and family come together, and children get a glimpse into the world of the people they love. 💛
