The funniest part is I had literally JUST finished explaining why I never wear white or light colors…

Because somehow, no matter what I’m doing, I will find a way to ruin them. 😂

The plan was to tear down the BMW’s M54B25 and rebuild it.

The teardown had other plans. 😂

Once I got far enough into it, I found out this engine was junk — which meant the B25 rebuild was officially dead and I had to find an M54B30 instead.

Not exactly the plan… but the B30 was a slight upgrade anyway, so I can’t complain too much. 😂 More displacement, better starting point, and ultimately a better foundation for what came next.

Sometimes tearing an engine apart tells you exactly what you didn’t want to know — and sends the build in a better direction anyway.

A lot of engine building is work nobody will ever see once everything goes back together.

Cleaning up this LB7 Duramax block meant removing rust, deflashing the casting, smoothing rough edges + cleaning up years of imperfections before moving forward with the build.

Not exactly the glamorous part of building an engine 😂 but prep work matters.

Build it better than you found it.

Good welding gloves aren’t just about protecting your hands — you still need enough dexterity and control to actually do the work.

Heat protection, grip + the ability to feel what you’re doing all matter, especially when you’re spending hours welding.

These Miller gloves have earned a permanent spot in my setup.
