My entire life I have been breathing backwards and inverted. That’s a lot of incorrect breathing.
From a very young age we are told to suck in our gut and pick up our chest.
No wonder we are programmed to breathe predominantly via the use of our upper chest. That ain’t it. At least it isn’t now.
2 weeks ago I swam across a lake relying on my deep, belly breaths. When my muscles were smoked from the fatigue, the only thing left to do was flip over and breathe deep.
Where I would usually start to feel a sense of unknown panic, I felt at ease. I felt free. Have you ever felt free in moments when/ where you felt trapped?
Staring at the sky above me, I felt I was hallucinating and was having an out-of-body experience. It felt like it wasn’t me. I was right. It wasn’t the former me that was in the middle of that lake. He stayed on shore. This new me had one agenda, to breathe through the discomfort of the unknown. I love the unknown. It’s so exciting.
Once I was calm again, I continued on to shore. 🥇
So, Ill say it again. Breathe my Ninja!
