Connecting to our Ancestors.
Finding a connection to our personal heritage can take many forms.
Fashion is one of those forms and for me, I find fashion connects us through the generations.
The lace you see in this picture once adorned a cotton pintucked petitskirt that my Great Great Grand Mom wore (Emma). My Grandma (Mable) gave me the item around 30 years ago, and about 20 years ago, I removed the lace (which is very worn in spots) and added it to a silk slip I own.
Today, I wore fashion that connects 5 female generations of my family.
