Weave a Cell Phone Holder

This workshop is not only for beginners, but for those who have always wanted to venture into the exciting world of textiles and would love to experience hand weaving. Dahlia has chosen the most efficient and easy loom to start your weaving adventure. The rigid heddle looms will be pre warped, so you get to do the fun stuff, which is the weaving part - within minutes you will be weaving your individually designed cell phone bag. The material of choice will be repurposed cotton fabric strips.

After weaving the fabric for the bag, Dahlia will customize the finishing and assemble the bag, at which point the bag can be picked up from her studio at Harrison Avenue or shipped to you.

Weave a Tapestry Wall Hanging

I'm excited to announce this make and take Tapestry Wall Hanging workshop. I personally love this class, since each student takes off in their own direction. It's the only class I teach which really is so open ended. However, each class produces very exciting results. Creativity is not a must, but must come with a willingness to venture into a world of textiles.

You will be presented with pre warped rigid heddle looms... a bit like a blank canvas. After a few directives from Dahlia, you will have the confidence to make your own textile drawing, using a variety of different yarns. Think sunsets, landscapes, or just a design that flows from your hands.

We will remove the tapestry from the loom at the end of the class and secure it onto a decorative stick from which the tapestry can hang. No previous experience is necessary.

Learn to Warp a Rigid Heddle Loom.
This 2 day workshop is designed to give students a thorough and intensive grounding in direct warping and hand weaving on a rigid heddle loom.

Learn to warp and dress a rigid heddle loom through the direct warping method. You'll understand the correct type and composition of warp yarns, calculating yarn requirements for projects, sett analyses, and fabric finishing techniques. You will make a warp which will be of your own design, weave it off and remove from the loom by the end of the class.
No previous experience is necessary and light bites will be served.

Wed & Thur, February 18 & 19, 10am – 4pm each day.

It’s finally here! Tomorrow we are hosting Sew Many Mittens, when we will create 350 pairs of mittens from recycled wool to be distributed to our unhoused neighbors across Greater Boston by Friends of Boston's Homeless. 💙

Learn to weave your own tote bag on a pre set rigid heddle loom using repurposed cotton strips of fabric, along with a wide selection of quality yarns.

You will weave and create your own individual design which will be customized to your aesthetic, no previous weaving experience is necessary.

Once the fabric has been woven, Dahlia will assemble your tote and ship it to you after the workshop.

This is a great experience for individuals or groups of friends and family.
