In lieu of a traditional side table, we introduced a desk beside the primary sofa, transforming the corner into a graceful place for quiet productivity — a spot to jot a thank-you note or attend to light work, all while taking in the sweeping views of Commonwealth Avenue’s grand, Parisian-style boulevard.

This corner of the living room strikes a harmonious balance of music, texture, and warmth. The custom Pierce ottoman by , upholstered in a lush fabric, tucks gracefully beneath the piano, introducing a soft counterpoint to its polished wood. Across the room, the Bensen U-Turn swivel chairs by through in a rich textile settle beside the fireplace, offering a comfortably composed vantage point within the space.

Our first project in the house—a space we completed a few years ago—and everyone’s favorite spot in a home: the kitchen.

The renovation began by removing an awkward two-tier island and replacing it with a beautiful vintage farmhouse table. The new layout, including the addition of a dining table, feels more open and conversational, flowing seamlessly into the adjacent living space. We surrounded the table with a set of antique English Hepplewhite mahogany dining chairs—found on —which we painted in two tones of red, while preserving the original needlepoint seats.

Next, we removed all the upper cabinets and replaced them with open shelving, giving the space a more laid-back feel. The shelves not only showcase ’s beautiful china and glassware, but also provide a place to display his many objets d’art and collected treasures.

The final step was replacing all the plain-front cabinet doors with Shaker-style fronts, painted in ’s Lucerne and finished with boat-cleat–shaped handles

A range of shots of the main living space, which overlooks the neighboring house farm.

The room features a pair of Louis XIII walnut barley twists chairs, upholstered in, damp-bathing-suit-friendly, indoor / outdoor fabric. We applied that same sensibility to the entire room…requiring and I to comb through piles and piles of fabrics.

We found inspiration for this guest bedroom suite in a Vivian Westwood wallpaper, which had long coveted. Paneling was added around the perimeter to center this room’s exuberant focal point.

The suite’s bathroom is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Candy Cane Red.

Another spot we charged into with full saturation, the powder room. Offset with bright white trim and adorned with vintage deco sconces and a hand-blown art-glass pendant. I love this tiny but impactful decor moment.

A Rod Nissen-Petzer photograph, from ‘s extensive collection, brings all of the bathroom’s shades-of-blue together perfectly.

Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy is the backdrop for first of the two guest bedroom suites. I love deep colors, even in a summer home!

Another of ‘s great finds, a pair of Bombay chests, decoupaged in old Stan Lee comic book pages.

Another shot of ‘s graffiti photography wall. Everything was framed in simple red frames to ensure the various sizes felt cohesive as an installation.

In the second photograph, another corner of the primary bedroom…where we drew inspiration from the neighboring horse farm. There are horses everywhere in this house, in the art, figurines, there is even a pair of bronze horse-head sconces flanking the window overlooking the farm. After all, it’s a summer home, why not just lean in!
