Great news! We found a house and our offer was accepted! What an answer to prayer it is. Exactly in the right location with enough sq ft and a big yard! I am so relieved! Unfortunately, I have to scrap the sale I was planning. Renovations to our current house have picked up speed so quickly; I am now packing up my entire workshop ahead of contractors running all over. I am hopeful I'll be up and running by June, and when I am, you'll all be the first to know!

Hi friends. It's definitely been a minute, but so grateful for the time and space to process and find my footing again. We're entering a super exciting (and stressful) period for our family as we prepare to move duty stations again. We're selling our current home and buying in Virginia Beach, but the market is NUTSO, so we may be hotel living if we don't snag something soon. In the meantime, as I prepare to pack up and move the shop, I think I might do a super limited sale next week of some things I was working before all the trials began this year. So stay tuned! I'll drop some sneak peaks soon.

The shop is still shut down. I'm struggling more and more some days than the start of the day would predict. I am torn between trying to keep this business functioning normally or going full hermit. I've poured a lot of love, sweat and tears into building this little refuge of creativity and don't want to let it go. But I feel like a fraud posting pretty things when my heart and head feel so ugly right now. If you've had to fight through depression or grief to keep afloat, and have any words of wisdom, I am all ears.

Thank you sweet friends who continue to check up on me and my family. I had a more up than down day yesterday, brought on by a beautiful snowfall we were all longing for. I am doing more "deeper thinking" than usual right now, and had some good ones as I watched those beautiful flakes piling up. Snow is a lot like Helen. It's something I'll always long for. It lit up my life for a brief moment. It is beautiful; each snowflake is perfectly unique and a work of art. It's hard to see how any single snowflake has an impact on anything. A snowflake is a whisper, a messenger, a promise. In the right conditions, that snowflake becomes a snow shower, becomes a snowstorm, and colors an otherwise lifeless landscape in beauty and that quiet stillness only it is capable of. I'm trying to dwell in that beautiful space today. Thank you guys for continuing to ask about her and for your continued prayers. I feel them, I need them.

How was everyone's New Year? Does anyone have family New Year traditions? We didn't stay up late, and we didn't do anything this year. But growing up, New Years was a fun night of family games at my parents house, and New Years Day was our second Christmas with my Dad's parents. So it was a fun way to extend the festivities another week and something I LOVED! Can't wait til the kids are a little bigger to come up with our take on the holiday. 🎉

I really enjoyed having so many unique design challenges to pour myself into to get through this year of intense isolation. This little shop is my therapy and the connections it's allowed me to build with all you beautiful humans has been a continuous source of joy for me. Here's to 2021 being a year of light and love, an intense counterweight to all the insanity of 2020. See y'all next year!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve my friends! I hope you're soaking up every ounce of magic. What are you up to? Mad dashing to wrap presents and cook all the cookies?!
