This was probably the coolest encounter of the season, and one you certainly don’t see every day ⬇️

I had no idea this baby deer had been along for the ride on one very lively turkey hunt this past spring.

It wasn’t until the hunt was well over, and I was knelt down beside the turkey, that I caught a glimpse of the fawn lying peacefully next to my boot.

I’ve ran across plenty of newborn deer in the closing weeks of spring turkey season, but this was definitely the first time I’ve had one chilling next to me the entire hunt.

Hope the little guy made it and is doing well 👍

When all the memories have been made, friendships born and strengthened, chapters written, and journeys had, there’s only one emotion left in the tank.

That emotion is thankful, and it’s an understatement.

Thank you, spring. Good Lord willing, we’ll meet again.
