We have some really freaking great party gowns and event dresses hitting the floor and if you have a formal thing (BMAC gala, anyone?) coming up, we have you covered. There are more fab unique gowns coming from the Boston condo clothes rescue operation 😜 so stay tuned but this one by designer Tanya Taylor is stunning!! Made of electric blue floral devore silk velvet, its alternating sheer and opaque stripes make it look pleated. A peplum floats over a triple tiered long skirt, while short butterfly sleeves channel the 1930s. The keyhole front neckline has been expertly repaired by Krista. Someone paid $655 for this size small dress originally and our price is $248 and worth every coin. Don’t forget we are open 12-9 pm tomorrow for Gallery Walk!

Kitten cuddle fest!! We did it, we raised $650 for the cats and pups! Thank you to every person who bought an animal themed jewelry item and who donated some! You made a difference! 🥰🥰🥰

Find your astral power in this simple full skirt, elastic waist, sleeveless pullover in jewel toned shades of purple, blue and green, with mysterious skull faced suns and otherworldly planets in gold and brown. Keyhole back neckline opening. This can be casual or dressy, it’s up to you. Labeled a size 4, it fits like an XS. Find it on the party dress rack, $48. I am here til 8:30 tonight!!! 🌞 🌖 👗 💫

Coming in late today, this favorite item in the shop deserves the spotlight! A frothy concoction of rayon, acrylic, wool, nylon and angora, it’s butter yellow with white furry angora color block sections, glittering iridescent paillettes, loops of glass seed beads and fields of pearl beads. With puffed shoulders and 3/4 sleeves, it’s Dolly worthy! Hand knit in Hong Kong for Nanell, it’s a size medium. $78. And you’ll never see anything so beautiful again! Tomorrow we are open 12 noon to 8 pm! So no excuses! 🤣

Oh Dolly! I’ve been quite teary eyed the past day, feeling this huge loss to humanity. Many people have written beautiful tributes on her brilliance, business acumen, humor, philanthropy, humility and musicality. I want to talk for just a moment about Dolly Parton, the dopamine dresser. Dolly encapsulated exactly what I mean when I talk about dopamine dressing and giving ourselves permission to wear what makes us truly happy. For Dolly it was beads, rhinestones, sequins, angel wing sleeves, bell bottoms, jumpsuits, pantsuits, shoulder pads, metallics, fringe, boots, culottes, blacks and whites, pastel colors, bright colors. Heels, wigs, corsets, long nails and lots of makeup. She dressed like a star, wore exactly what she thought was beautiful and felt comfortable to HER, and laughed at herself, deflecting any criticism or judgement with good natured self deprecating humor and kindness. She showed off her legs, her shoulders and cleavage but not her arms. She showed off her slim waist but didn’t usually show her navel. She knew exactly what shapes, textures and colors she loved, and wore them joyfully and fearlessly. She preferred her 5 inch heels and wore them relaxing at home.

The Queen of Maximalism has passed on but we can all take inspiration from Dolly in so many ways. Helping others. Laughing at life and ourselves. Pursuing our dreams and never considering failure as an option. Never ever being cruel. And wearing absolutely anything and everything that gives us personal joy.

I’ll leave you with this Dolly quote:

“I really do think that fashion is not just what’s fashionable. True fashion is what you’re most comfortable in. If you’re going to be motivated and motivating, you need to feel comfortable in what you wear. …

I have FINALLY scheduled September classes! I have also introduced a new rate structure. Each class has three rates: Supported, Standard, and Community Supporter. You can choose whichever tier feels right, no questions asked. We do also still have some financial aid available if you need it. Just ask!

Hello friends! Today’s featured item at Morning Glorious Vintage is this adorable late 1960s-early 1970s mini dress by India Imports! In a lovely yellow, orange and green block print cotton, it features an empire waist, lapped V neckline with standup collar, long sleeves with triple snap cuffs, a-line border print skirt and closes with a long back zipper. This is a single owner garment until now, ready for the next owner to groove in it! India Imports cotton dresses can go for BIG money but ours is $76! Wowwwee! Size XS. Open til 7 pm!
