BOHS XC has an opportunity for the boys and girls cross country program to raise money while at the same time our athletes can gain volunteer hours. For the next two weeks on Monday-Thursday we need athletes to be at the high school from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM to interact with foreign exchange students and take part in prepared activities and games. Athletes can go there straight from morning practice. We need as many athletes to sign up!

Last year some of the XC families purchased OC Park Passes. We have several meets at county parks where the pass could be used. Here is the link if anyone is interested

The Season is upon us. The season starts Thursday July 7 at 8:00 am at the Brea Track for the boys. For the girls July 6, at 4:00 pm at the Fullerton Sports Park and Thursday July 7 at 7:30 am at the High School Gym.

There will be a parent meeting Thursday Night July 7 at 6:30 in the Cafeteria.

BOHS XC Boosters are hosting the "Smoothie Booth" at the Brea Country Fair on July 4th. We will be showing off our CIF Trophy in addition to making our famous strawberry and Oreo smoothies. All BOHS XC runners are encouraged to demonstrate their smoothie making skills. Message “Brea Running” to volunteer in the booth.

Hydration: When, How much?

To stay hydrated every day- Half your weight in ounces plus 8 oz. per 15 minutes of exercise

2-3 hours before running- 17-20 oz. combination of water and sports drink

20 min before a race- 8-10 oz. water or sports drink

Post-race or after practice- 24 oz. combo of water and sports drink for every pound of body weighty lost during exercise
8oz = 1 cup
