Native Plants!

Rattlesnake Master! Isn't that an exciting name? We have plugs of Eryngium yuccifolium and some of these babies are budding!
A stand out tall plant to grow with tall grasses and any of those late summer compositaes for a pollinator feast as well as a feast for the eyes!
Remaining plugs will be potted up after this weekend.
Plant Sale Friday 9-noon, Saturday 9-11. 106 Pond Road, Bridgton. Cash or check.

Summer plant sales! Baby native plants!

Did you know there are two native species of goldenrod that thrive in dryish shady spots? Pictured is Solidago caesia, aptly called Wreath goldenrod and will light up your woodland garden in the late summer and fall. The other is Solidago flexicaulis, Zigzag goldenrod which has a broader leaf and a wonderful habit. We have these available in plugs this last week, then what's left go into big kid pots!

Looking something new and different? We have some lovely and unusual perennials. Like this Allium ‘Ozawa’, and the dwarf Anemone ‘Wild Swan’, in flower now, and a yellow blooming Salvia for shade! Among many more.
Come see me Saturday morning 9-11, 106 Pond Road in Bridgton.

Amidst all the late blooming perennials that grace the nursery, and most of the gardens I create, is the very last to bloom, Allium thunbergii 'Ozawa'. Not very tall but growing into wide clumps, this Allium brings up vertical stems of silvery green buds as summer ends, opening to rich purple in October... really, just now. I love this plant! I use it a lot... as long as there's someone around to see it!
