When Helena Holmquist founded Wool Rebel in 2018, she had a clear vision: to create something honest, thoughtful, and rooted in quality. What began as her dream has grown into a brand built not only on craftsmanship, but on strong values such as transparency, long-term thinking, and humanity in an industry that can sometimes feel the opposite.
In 2023, Charlotte de Besche joined as co-owner and Head of Design. Their partnership, however, began with a genuine connection.
”When I first met Helena, I was struck by her warm and open personality,” Charlotte says. “She fully opened the door for me and saw me as her equal, despite being the founder. I’ve worked in the industry for many years, and I’m used to it being a tough environment with sharp attitudes. So I was genuinely happy — and relieved — to feel that it’s actually possible to create something within fashion that is humble, open, and kind.”
For Helena, inviting a partner into the company she built from the ground up required openness.
”To invite a new partner into my company has been a journey of trust,” Helena reflects. “Wool Rebel has always been close to my heart. But I also knew that for it to grow in the right way, I needed to share it with someone who truly understood the values behind it. With Charlotte, it never felt forced. It felt right. She brings creative strength, clarity, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. Letting someone into something you’ve built from scratch requires humility — and I’m grateful every day that I did.”
Together, Helena and Charlotte are shaping Wool Rebel into more than a fashion brand — a company built on respect, thoughtful design, and the belief that a brand can be driven by openness rather than ego.
