ARCHIVAL REDEVELOPMENT // Atelier Notes
One of the most important stages of my design process happens long before a garment is completed.
Recently, I began exploring the performance characteristics of Silk City Fibers' Perle 5/2 Cotton in Dark Navy as I embarked on the journey of redeveloping old garments into new silhouettes for the atelier.
A few observations from the testing process:
• Beautiful stitch definition with excellent visual clarity.
• Minimal halo and no visible pilling throughout repeated handling and sampling.
• Exceptional recovery, allowing the fabric to maintain structure while still offering fluid movement.
• A remarkably refined hand that feels elevated and luxurious against the skin.
As both a designer and textile developer, I'm always searching for fibers capable of balancing beauty, longevity, and performance. This yarn continues to impress me with each swatch and prototype.
Thank you to // for supporting this exploration.
