“Growing up Asian American, growing up mixed race, tea was just a part of my regular experience. I think I actually had tea before I ever had a soda. That was, like, my first exposure to caffeine. And I really wanted to capture in a scent that tension between who I am and what I really craved, being a young kid that wanted to fit in. When I tasted a real matcha that I was drinking in Portland, Oregon, it was a little grassy, a little nutty, it was very smooth... But then there was a sweetness to it that reminded me of fruity cereal, and it unlocked this memory of wanting fruity cereal as a kid, but that was just not something that was in my household. And I loved the idea of combining matcha with something that is so quintessentially American that so many kids yearn for. And I think that what has been created is just so nostalgic in the best way. It is comforting it’s just the right amount of sweet. It has that real matcha smell to it. It smells like a matcha has been placed right in front of you. It’s just so delightful and powerful. It’s just a really special scent, and I’m really proud of it.” - Ingrid
