Each of the sandals I make are cobbled by hand, favorite step of mine. I use solid brass clinching nails or ‘tacs’ to hold the top and bottom soles together. This practice of cobbling, was one I learned from my mentor, Barbara Shaum.

She hated planned obsolescence and designed her collection of sandals, that I still make today, so they could be pulled apart and resoled; So that her investment was your investment; So that you could wear one pair of sandals for most of your life.

It is such an honor to be a steward of these tools and work benches from my late mentor, Barbara Shaum. It’s so nice to have her spirit in the room with me. If you don’t know who she was give her a little Google… she made runway sandals for most of the big names in fashion I know… many moons ago 🪄

Of all the custom processes that I have come across, this is where our sandals differ. I draw your feet, make a pattern directly from that tracing and put the in-process sandal directly on your feet when you come in for your fitting. Always making sure they fit exactly how they should. 🙏
