FREE KIDS DANCE PARTY- This Sat Aug 6th!

All of NYC will be dancing this Saturday Aug 6th during the citywide Dance Party NYC! We are thrilled to be celebrating this amazing event with by offering my fabulous 90s/ Pop-themed Happy Dance Party for Kids for FREE this Saturday!

My , a summer pop-up, offers unique programming and joyful space to escape the summer. The retro imagery, bold colors, and playful buzzwords evoke the '70s, when summertime meant having fun, hanging with friends, and dancing to the Beach Boys.

Although we are heart broken that the elected officials of the City of New York and the corporations that reigns over Coney Island would not allow my beloved shop on the boardwalk to open this summer, I have amazing news….

I’m bringing my Coney Island magic to City Point BKLYN]] in downtown Brooklyn! I’m launching a brand new project called “Brooklyn is My Happy Place” with a fabulous new 13,000 sq ft pop up venue in Downtown Brooklyn which opens THIS SATURDAY July 30th (through Aug)

is a whole vibe! We throw events, parties, workshops and classes with the goal of making you feel happier, more loved, more joyful, more connected!! All are welcome to the party!

AND, I’m THRILLED to be starting my Dance Party for toddlers and kids! Happy Dance Club is a super fun, themed, interactive, educational dance party which will introduce toddlers and kids to their first DJ, dance floor experience. My fabulously colorful “DJ” will lead kids through a guided dance floor adventure where they will learn, through movement, about musical artists like Prince, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, etc. as well as different Genres of dance music.

70s Disco is the theme of our very first Happy Dance Club party at at City Point BKLYN]] in downtown Brooklyn (just outside the Dekalb train station)

Dress in disco outfits! Guardians are encouraged to dress up, dance and participate!

We are heart broken that the forces that control the Coney Island boardwalk are trying to needlessly destroy our vibrant, creative, artist owned, small business which has dazzled guests on the boardwalk for the past 23 years.

BUT we are thrilled to be welcomed with open arms by our friends at City Point to bring the Lola Star magic of Coney Island to Downtown Brooklyn for a Coney Island Day & Kids Pride Celebration.

Celebrate the fabulousness, creativity, and acceptance of Coney Island with a colorful, inclusive celebration for all ages.
🌈
Come in costume and join in the Rainbow Parade, which will circle through Albee Square and Flatbush Avenues led by Lola Star & the performers featuring a Stilt Walker, Strong Man, Roller Rainbow Girl, Mermaid Hula Hoopers, Jugglers, Balloon Twisters and more!

The performances will showcase the spirt and talent that makes Coney Island a legendary destination for all walks of life.

AND we will be hosting a Self-Expression Studio which will give kids and adults alike the chance to embrace their individuality through creativity.

A Free Sparkle Station will offer a selection of mermaid-inspired glitter and glam designs, which can be applied to the face or hands.

We will provide materials to customize t-shirts and tote bags with local artist, Lola Star designed Coney Island- themed images mermaids, unicorns, disco squids, and glitter prints (items start at $14).

We miss all of you and the Coney Island boardwalk so much! It is so deeply wrong & unfair that we cannot see all of you there! BUT we hope you will celebrate the magic of Coney Island with us in downtown Brooklyn on June 11th instead! Hoping to see all of you there!
