Bleached ~n~ dyed my dads fave sweatshirt and a tee my brother loves for some handmade Christmas presents this year! Loving how these turned out- I do them up on my roof because a bleach high ain’t fun, lemme tell ya I learned that one the hard way 🥴🌈✨love seeing how every type of black dye/ fabric takes the bleach and gives up it’s color a little bit differently. Sometimes it turns white, but most of the time your left with a coraly orange. I added teal, indigo and emerald green and look how many colors I got when it all mixed together!! This is a perfect way to keep an item that you love but accidentally got bleach stains on!

Fun little project inspired by the stunning work of .art , denim on denim on denim legend!! All salvaged from fashion industry waste ♻️ 💕 🌍 might make some more of these one day! Using the leftover scraps for some little zip pouches I think or maybe I’ll go wild and make a corset or something.. who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

Orange peels collected my lovely friend ! Before and after rehydrating, both colors are so beautiful. Apparently these make a great dye but jury’s still out .. stay tuned for the results! Will soak overnight for optimal color extraction 🧪 🍊 💕 if you eat a lot of oranges, you can also soak the peels you save overnight in water/ white vinegar for a refreshing home cleaner that smells like heaven :)

Making my own iron water as a dye modifier/ mordant! Found this rusty drawer pull in a friends yard while harvesting blackberries (thanks !!) and trying out a vinegar/ water mixture. Added in some iron nails as well .. fingers crossed this works! Will wait a few days try it out- Iron water creates muted tones of some colors, and on others like turmeric it completely saddens them / morphes them into an entirely different hue. 👩🏼‍🔬 🌱

Shipped out my last order for the week! Taking a week off to visit family back home- the shop is still open, but shipping will be delayed until the 26th when I return. Also- exciting news... I’m moving at the end of the month and much as it kills me to leave my beautiful built in photo studio (aka my bedroom with 9 windows) I’ll have the space at the new spot to have a permanent set up and will be able to churn out your custom orders SO much faster!! Exciting step for Zoe Makes Things :) I still have a few spots for June and July custom work still open! Pillowcases are coming back per your requests, and lots and lots of shop updates in the coming weeks :)
