The last week has been one our family never expected.

My husband unexpectedly had to undergo surgery, resulting in a below-the-knee amputation of his left leg. As you can imagine, we are navigating a lot right now as he begins this new chapter of recovery and learns to adjust to a new way of life.

I wanted to let all of my wonderful Southern Knot customers know because if you’ve noticed a delay in messages or orders, this is why.

Please know that I am working diligently—often around the clock—to complete every order with the same love and attention to detail that Southern Knot is known for. I am incredibly grateful for your patience, kindness, and understanding during this time.

Most of all, I ask for your prayers for my husband as he heals, gains strength, and adjusts to this new lifestyle. Your support means more to our family than you’ll ever know.

Introducing the Wrapped in Love Donation Gowns🤍

For more than 20 years, I had the privilege of caring for families as a nurse. I celebrated new beginnings as a Labor & Delivery nurse, walked beside families through life’s most sacred moments as a hospice nurse, and learned that every life—no matter how small or how brief—is precious.

This mission is deeply personal to me. My own grandson was born at just 34 weeks and spent time in the NICU at Memorial in Savannah. I know the fear, the waiting, the prayers, and the overwhelming gratitude for the nurses and physicians who care for our tiniest miracles.

Those experiences changed me. They reminded me that while medicine heals the body, love, compassion, and beautiful keepsakes can help carry the heart.

That’s why Southern Knot is beginning something that has been on my heart for a long time.

With every Southern Knot Baby Suite purchased, I will donate a hand-smocked newborn gown in your family’s name to a local NICU or hospice that cares for premature babies and families experiencing the unimaginable loss of a baby.

For some families, these gowns may be the very first outfit their baby wears.

For others, they may become the last precious keepsake they will ever hold.

In moments when words are never enough, I hope a beautifully handcrafted gown can gently remind parents that their baby mattered, is deeply loved, and will never be forgotten.

This is the heart behind our Wrapped in Love Donation Program—turning every purchase into a gift of comfort, dignity, and love for another family.

This is also only the beginning.

I am currently writing a companion keepsake book, Wrapped in Love, created especially for these families. It will include gentle reflections, journaling pages, letters, prayers, and space to remember and celebrate the precious life of their baby. My hope is that it becomes something parents can return to in the days, months, and years ahead—a reminder that while their baby’s time on earth may have been brief, their love will last forever.

Thank you for helping Southern Knot wrap these precious babies—and the families who love them—in beauty, compassion, and love.
