Yeah, so, 4 months in and I’m pleased to announce that untied to time] is ready for an expansion! Back in April, I was getting my haircut at and saw a retail space for rent across the street. Out of curiosity, I put in an inquiry and shortly after was accepted as the new tenant. I’ve spent the past 6 weeks painting dark grey walls to creme fraiche, updating light fixtures, sanding down the client counter and all the fun things that go along with a proper build out.
The suite at 523 Main was the perfect launching pad for my journey into entrepreneurship. I was able to quickly set up my space with low overhead, build a website and accept clients within 6 weeks. At one point a friend of mine brought me curtains to hem; they were over 9 ft long and I had nowhere to lay them out. That’s when I knew I would eventually need more room.
Now, Untied to Time is moving into a 900sq foot facility in which I will be able to take on additional sewing services and expand our retail footprint. In concept, Untied to Time aims to add longevity to one’s existing wardrobe by offering alterations and mending, along with curated timeless garments. I’m pleased to say the new space will have 2 fitting rooms and a seating area to allow group appointments and shopping with friends.
** This vision has been at the forefront of my mind for a long time and it’s incredible to see it unfold. This time around, I will be having a grand opening but not until the first Friday in August! This is because I’m getting married at the end of July, and I don’t want to open publicly, close for a week, and reopen because that just doesn’t seem right. Therefore, the month of July will be by appointment only for alterations and I will open the doors publicly for a few of the upcoming weekends. **
