Hello everyone!!

I have quite an announcement - I am closing up shop!

There’s a lot happening in my life at the moment and I am choosing to close down to focus on family, myself and my future.

For a long time I wanted this to be my endgame - and I don’t believe it is. I believe my endgame is much bigger than this✨

Zabette taught me A LOT.

I failed, a lot.
I won, a lot.
I learned even more.

I got to meet tons of you at markets and see you love my creations as much as I do and share pieces of myself with you and I will cherish that forever!!!

But I don’t feel aligned with this anymore.

I started the concept of Zabette pretty much fresh out of college, because I only ever wanted to work for myself (still true…) but sometimes life happens and things change and DREAMS change!

I will never, ever stop sewing or creating. It’s part of who I am. I get to sew and create for ME now. Not that I ever made anything I wouldn’t wear myself, but I never spared myself a minute to just create because it brought me joy, I only created for the hustle - and that’s not cool.

It’s been a hell of a ride, thank you for hanging in there with me.

My entrepreneurial journey is farrr from over, so if you want to follow my personal account to see what’s next check out

I’m happy as a clam for what’s coming next but in the mean time I’m spreading that happy by making my shop 50% off, no code needed. It’ll be active until June 30, so shop til you drop!

Much love,
Liz

I know it’s been quite a while since I’ve been active on here.

April was full of as much love and loss as possible, so I took a big step back to focus on the important things ❤️

On a very happy note, I’m elated to say Shane and I are engaged (he proposed on my birthday, not at the game lol) and there’s no one else I could imagine going through life with💖

Thanks to y’all who stuck around during my hiatus and I finally feel ready to do more of this social media thing again.

xx

Pieces of April.

If you saw my story a few days ago I’ve been on a break due to a family matter.

Going to slowly get back into posting again and will be “making up” for Earth Month in the next few weeks.

There are still some spots in my upcoming embroidery class so please share/sign up to talk books and learn a fun new skill! (Link in bio)

❤️
Thanks for sticking around

Day 22: Decision

Yesterday I decided on using this gorgeous royal blue poie de soie for an upcoming project.

I’m not allowed to share much more than this until it’s farther along.

You’ll see this color again in November when it’s completed.

This is going to be one of the most time consuming projects I’ve ever undertaken and for that reason I have decided I will not be doing much else this year aside from teaching embroidery and re-launching a few smaller products.

Day 16: Highs & Lows

There isn’t a particular picture that really goes with this day so enjoy a vintage wrapping paper box…

This year has been full of highs and lows so far, I definitely learned a lot at the start of the year and that sometimes you’re not always the right fit for a particular facet of an industry: and that’s OKAY!!

I learned from it and that I still have my own strengths I’m building off of.

I AM very talented and creative, but still have things to work on.

A major high was getting back into teaching embroidery for my second year and working more on putting my business first, working towards new and bigger goals and digging deeper into my ‘why.’

This year has been giving me a lot of ups and downs but there’s something that makes me feel like something bigger than I’ve ever imagined is on the horizon ✨

So I’m keeping my chin up, working when I feel inspired, resting when my mind & body need it and just gonna keep on keepin on💖

Day 14: Big or Small

I can’t decide because I like to do both. I haven’t done anything super “big” since uni and really got to experiment…

However, I really like to hone in on the small details (2nd pic) by using delicate materials and techniques.

Day 13: Planning

I’ve been planning my trip to NYC at the end of the month and would love to know what recommendations you all have!

Any favorite vintage haunts, resturant, bar and of course fabric & embellishment/haberdashery shops outside of the garment district.

Let me know in the comments!

I had started with the notion of making Zabette an active/adventure brand with a focus on travel-friendly garments that were stylish yet could stand up to the wear and tear of hiking, rock climbing and surfing but still look great for a night on the town or at a business meeting.

While the direction I’m taking Zabette in is different now, the same ethos applies: earth-conscious with a forever focus on being able to pack smarter, not harder.

➡️Swipe to see the OG collection that perhaps one day I’ll revisit, but for now it serves as just another step in my creative journey.
