"A needlework shop with an eclectic selection of patterns and cross stitch supplies"? Yes! We love that, don't we?! It's We3Chickies shop in New Albany, Indiana, opening next month. You know they are going to have fabulous finds, including Kreinik threads.

From their Instagram feed: "It’s official peeps- we will have a full storefront ready for you by July 1st! We have a little bit of work to do, so stay tuned for further information regarding grand opening festivities on July 3rd and 4th!"

Stitch inspiration today, courtesy of Bargello and Kreinik metallic ribbons:

Kreinik makes metallic ribbons in three sizes, the most popular of which are 1/16" Ribbon and wider 1/8" Ribbon. These soft, flexible, gorgeous ribbons are perfect for bargello stitching.

The earliest known examples of Bargello needlepoint were found in Hungary, Italy, and Great Britain. Bargello is also known by other names: Florentine work, Hungarian point (punto unghero), Flame stitch (punto fiamma), cushion stitch, and Irish stitch. (from https://egausa.org). The name "bargello" comes from this work's association with the Bargello Palace in Florence, Italy. It's a versatile stitch you can use in any color combination anywhere. Go subtle for backgrounds, or bold for visual interest. Straight up and down stitches go quickly, and when done in metallic ribbons, make a fabulous impact.
