Friend, can we lean in and talk honestly for a minute? 💛
Between the recent news reminding us of how fragile life is, a dear friend in her mid-60s entering hospice, and a kind young man in our community who lost his battle with cancer at just 39, my heart has been heavy—but also deeply challenged.
Moments like these pull us out of the daily noise and hand us a heavy dose of perspective.
How much of our precious, God-given energy do we waste picking ourselves apart? We look in the mirror and obsess over a new silver hair. We refuse to wear the short-sleeve shirt because our arms aren't as toned as they used to be. Or worse—we hide from the camera and step out of family photos entirely because we think we look "too old."
Sweet sister, aging isn't a flaw in the system. It is a gift denied to many.
Every single morning we wake up is a fresh breath, a new day, and yes—one year older than the version of us from last year. That isn't something to hide from; it’s a milestone of God's grace. The gray hairs, the changing body, the laugh lines... they are proof of a life being lived.
Your daughters, your granddaughters, and the women in your circle aren't looking to you to be a flawless mannequin. They are looking to you as a role model. They need to see a woman who knows her worth isn't found in a smooth forehead or a dress size, but in the God who formed her with purpose.
Don't let the enemy trick you into sitting on the sidelines of your own life because you don’t like the reflection in the mirror today. Step into the picture. Wear the shirt. Live out the years you’ve been blessed to see.
Be thankful for the day you’re in. Live it with intent, love big, and let the light inside you shine so bright that nobody even notices the rest.
You are loved, you are precious, and your story isn't finished yet.
What is one thing about your life today that you are choosing to be thankful for? I’d love to hear in the comments below! 👇✨
