Kat Whitledge Basics and Bespoke Kat Whitledge Basics & Bespoke is a Vermont-based clothing design/production company that promotes Slow Fashion. At KWBB, we offer a wide range of services.

We are a Vermont-based clothing atelier that designs and creates unique and timeless garments made to measure with an ethical and sustainable approach to fashion. The Slow Fashion movement is a relatively new idea, although in fact, it is as old as clothing. The movement is about a return to real consideration of what we wear and how it’s being made. We produce clothing that is made-to-measure and

is timeless in design. We want to produce clothing that you feel good wearing because it’s flattering, but also that you feel good about wearing, because it is made from sustainable fabrics, locally produced and will be something that you can use for many years. You can purchase some items directly from the shop, you can use the shop and gallery to search for designs that you would like to have made in your size and fabric (Made-to-measure), or we can start fresh a make you something truly unique (Bespoke). Depending on the circumstances, we can meet and measure over video chat, speak on the phone or I can travel within Vermont to do a personalized fitting in your home. Is bespoke clothing expensive? Depending on what fabrics you use, your tailor-made, or bespoke, piece of clothing can be purchased for a price that is comparable to a well-made “off the rack” garment.

Once again, a huge Thank You to everyone who has reached out with kind words and sentiments about the closing of KWBB.

Moving forward, I would like to use this page to offer small batch sales of bags, aprons, etc. and maybe even a few special projects or offers. In the near future I will be using this page to try to offload some things that I no longer need that may be a great find for you!

Until then, I’m asking you and the Universe to help me think about my next chapter. Are there any career opportunities out there that you think would be a great fit for me? I’m organized, loyal and hardworking, and I come with a tool bag full of transferable skills.

Announcement: I’m very sad to report that I’m closing down KWBB. It’s been 7 years and many iterations of trying to make it work, and sadly it’s just not sustainable.

This project has brought me a lot of joy and a lot of anguish, and I have given it my best shot. Having my creativity tied to $ has been extra difficult. I look forward to regaining the creative bandwidth to paint, dance and sing. I look forward to spending more time with my family and friends. I look forward to having the time and funds to travel.

So with bittersweet feelings abounding and a major sense of relief, I say thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. It means everything.
