I am guessing this post from Butler PA Scanner Updates is why: Not sure what's going on but traffic at a stand still 12 miles on 422 east of Butler before and after Fenelton Market and traffic west no traffic coming through except I think cars turning around... be careful

Please do not attempt to drive down 4th Ave. There is a water line break, it smells horrible and is flooding all the way down out into pillow St...American water just got here and they do have the road closed right there, but it is one way so please don't attempt to turn down you will be stuck...

9/4/26 11:40am. Update: American water is working on it, water on 4th is estimated to be off for 4 hours and 45 minutes...fingers crossed... HUGE problem on 4th Ave right now. *It was a water main break...the smell was just way worse than anything I have smelled from other breaks around Butler... Calls are being made to American Water right now, but any suggestions on who else to call? The whole road in that section seems to be bubbling up at this point

9/3/26. I am told it was a 24 year old who did the painting all over buildings last night and thanks to video footage, he has been caught. I will update if I hear any additional details.

9/3/26. A routine 4:00 PM craving hit an unexpected speed bump when Butler Township police boxed in a vehicle right at the Taco Bell drive-thru clearance bar on Pittsburgh Road. Instead of rolling up to the speaker to order a Cheesy Gordita Crunch and a Baja Blast, the vehicle was served an impromptu traffic stop complete with flashing red-and-blues and uniformed backup—proving that making a quick afternoon run to "Live Más" can sometimes leave you pinned down before you even get your order in.
