Happy Earth Day!
As a small business; boutique owner. I feel the need to hit on the fashion industry, and the ways (us); as consumers can progress from causing harm to our intricate Mother Nature 🫶🏽
As social media has obviously popularized nationally. So have trends. Causing “fast fashion”, a term that gives you an ick feeling to even be apart of.
Side effects of “fast fashion”:
-lack of human rights’ for workers’
-excessive plastic use
-cheap products
-more chemicals; dyes, etc
Ways to conteract “fast fashion”:
-buy eco-sustainable clothing
-spend a little more on the higher quality
-declutter, but donate or co-sign
-alterations can rejuvenate an “old” piece
Don’t deprive yourself of that shopping spree, or cutest new piece your closet needs! But do your research!
Questions to ask yourself:
-will this piece, last years or weeks?
-will this piece, serve my attire in multiple ways?
