Nostalgia Nook We are a unique store that has a little bit of everything from vintage or antique items to the newest of items.

Be sure to stop by and visit a family owned and operated store. The Nostalgia Nook started out as Schaeffer Furniture & Undertaking in 1885. With its high tin ceilings and recessed front entryway, the building has seen many changes in the last 100 years yet it still has that old fashioned homey feeling. David and Teresa Mardis, the current owners, purchased the building from the Buresh family in 2

000 and did extensive remodeling and reopened in May of that year just in time for the Chisholm Trial Festival. While keeping the antiques and nostalgic items, they have added many lines of gift items; Leanin’ Tree cards, sterling silver jewelry, kitchen items, purses, sewing thread and embroidery floss and other merchandise for Christmas, birthday or anniversary. Three times during the year, the ZCBJ Lodge baked Kolaches in the kitchen area in the back of the Nostalgia Nook. During the Chisholm Trail Festival (first week-end in May), the Sumner County Fair in August and Ocktoberfest (second week-end in October), the Kolache Kitchen is still open serving piping hot Kolaches. The rest of the time Vlasta has a coffee shop (Corner Café Jr.) in the back where locals can drop a quarter in the basket and help themselves to a cup of coffee and visit. If you’re in Caldwell, you’ll want to be sure to stop in just for a step back in time.
