June marks 3 years of being a full time jeweler 🌞

4.5 years ago, I started my business and had this big crazy dream that seemed very much out of reach. Was I slightly delusional thinking I could do this? Maybe. All I knew, was that owning a business was hard when you have something to physically create something of quality. I saw my mom work 7 days a week for years when she owned a deli growing up. Back then, I was sure that I never wanted to own a business.

Buuut jokes on me lol when I found metalsmithing,it consumed me.

Now, after many years of constant hustle, grind, and a dicey dance with credit cards, I can honestly say, it was and is still worth it. I truly love this little community that I’ve built and I’m so grateful to get to do what I love for a living :)

Enjoy a trip down memory lane, and see just a handful of my favorite pieces since summer 2023 when I took the leap 🐸

Not only is this necklace made with one of my all time favorite gems, it’s also one of my absolute favorite designs. This design was one of the first that I loved so much I decided to keep it around. They’re all one of a kind, since I’ll never use the same gem twice, and they all have their own little details that are different from the rest.

I call it the triangle dangle, and it was also one design that shifted the type of designs I make, with that art-deco influence. In a way, elegance and opulence there, but it’s also simple enough to wear almost daily and can match with so many other pieces I make. Especially the tile charms!

How I still have this necklace, I do not know 🙃

she’s available on my website with a couple other options, link in bio or head to sydneykayjewelry.com ❣️

Hoop earrings from scratch 💅

Unfortunately the ring I had been making which, I actually tore up 2 rings for 2 tile charms. Both of the rings I had the designs in mind for while. The moonstone had been done, the moldavite was in progress. It just wasn’t what I had envisioned. So even though I spend HOURS fabricating the ring, I thought for now, I’d rather use the gold toward something that’ll knock our socks off ❣️

Impermanence is humbling. & the beauty of precious metal is that you can always remelt it down to be something new or different. It may take time, but there’s endless chances to be renewed .

Saw this and thought it was funny but kinda true 😅

Worked so hard for this to be my career and even when it’s hard it’s such a high quality problems I’m grateful to have compared to the type stress I used to feel from previous jobs.

I would say it’s hard to believe this is my life, but I worked my ass off to have this ❤️‍🔥

Grateful for a grandma (and mom) and their great taste

thank you to everyone for loving my creations. Website goals are being achieved and the fact that my most loved pieces have been the ones I make when I get to just flow &jam. Lately I feel like I’ve been taking a lot of chances, exploring my curiosity to see if something would be cool, and honestly there’s a couple pieces I’ve disliked and you haven’t seen, but majority of what comes from me just doing my thing is inspiring my own self.

A million thank you’s to all of you 🥹 I couldn’t do it without you !!
