It’s Saturday! Will you get a chance to sew today? I’ve finished 12 blocks for my random log cabin. I decided to arrange them to give a hint of having furrows (diagonals). I also think I will make 8 more to have a twin size quilt. The new blocks will be more traditional half light/half dark so I can continue the furrow design. Maybe I can get the centers and first round cut today but it’s beautiful perfect weather outside so I must spend a little time soaking it up. How about you?

I guess I’m into rainbows 🌈. I thought I had made all the heart blocks I needed until I realized I was attracted to some quilt pictures of blocks in color order. So, I’ve redesigned my layout and I’m still making heart blocks. 🤪That’s ok 👌. I’m pulling out and using up some smaller pieces from my stash and giving myself a lesson on color at the same time. Yellows and oranges are picked out and awaiting cutting. I like this a lot better than the previous layouts ➡️ (swipe to see). Using all the colors make me a happy girl. Of course now I have a too many pink blocks 🙄. In case you missed the current sewalong, we are making heart blocks with the free tutorial from I am hoping to have a completed heart quilt by Valentines Day. How about you? Are you making blocks?

I’ve been working on another new and simple project. I have collected several charm packs over the years and I want to turn them into quilts this year. I think Cascade is turning into a great choice. Take one charm pack add 1 1/2 yards of background and start cutting. You’ll be sewing it up before you know it. Sale starts next week on Monday Jan 10. It’s just me cutting and checking you out so please be patient. You may have to wait a while if it gets busy. Or if you want a lot cut I might have to do it later and have you come back to pick it up. Sale goes to Jan 28 when I close for good. Details went out in the newsletter this morning.
