Ace Hardware to honor fallen heroes with 1 million American flags
‘To help honor our fallen heroes,’ Ace will distribute flags to customers and the VFW.
Ace Hardware is collaborating with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) once again this year to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country by giving away 1 million American flags nationwide on Saturday, May 27.
“Ace is proud to be a part of this nationwide effort to distribute flags to our customers and to the VFW to help honor our fallen heroes on Memorial Day,” said Kim Lefko, chief marketing officer, Ace Hardware.
“Memorial Day reminds us of the true cost of freedom, and while we as a nation mourn the loss of our brave and patriotic heroes, we vow to never forget their sacrifice and remain forever grateful to them,” said Tim Borland, national commander at VFW.

Ace sees record show attendance
Hardware broke its own record at recent spring show in Texas.

The recent Ace Hardware spring show in San Antonio attracted record level crowds for the retailer owned hardware cooperative.
Ace Hardware reported it broke its own record for attendance with over 11,800 attendees for the entire show at its recent in-person convention held March 14-16 in San Antonio, Texas.

“The numbers reflect the importance Ace Hardware places on in-person relationship building and the enthusiasm Ace retailers have for the brand after two consecutive years of historic, record-breaking sales,” said the retailer-owned hardware cooperative.

As part of its spring convention, retailers took part in over 50 live and virtual retailer training sessions. There were 2,700 attendees at the training sessions – tying last year’s record attendance.

“The availability of various Ace teams is one of my biggest reasons for attending,” said Bobby Heuser, president, Heuser Ace Hardware.

While the goal of Ace Hardware’s semi-annual conventions is to allow its teams to plan their business, take advantage of margin-building buying opportunities and give vendors a chance to showcase and sell their products, the true purpose is to build the valuable relationships that drive passion for the Ace brand, said the company.

“Chatting in-person with folks from Ace Retail Training, Ace Healthcare, and Ace Bankcard Processing gave me the opportunity to gain clarification on these programs and gain important contacts for if I need additional help in the future,” said Heuser.

With over 1,200 vendors in attendance, the San Antonio show allowed Ace retailers the opportunity to plan their retail product mix and experience vendor demonstrations of the latest trending products.

Oak Brook, Illinois-based Ace Hardware calls itself, “the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the world” and has more than 5,700 locally owned and operated stores in approximately 70 countries.

Saleslink expands the Marketing Department
Saleslink is proud to announce the expansion of their current Marketing Department. Recognizing the many facets of omni-channel marketing and the requirements of key customers represented by Saleslink, the expanded department will be focused on maximizing the digital presence for all the companies’ many recognized consumer brands.
The marketing department will manage Pardot email campaigns, social media presence as well as digital presence on behalf of Saleslink Principals on key customer websites.
The commitment to the marketing department is exemplified by recent personnel announcements. Darrell Wabschall will be overseeing the department and Lauren Peifer recently joined Saleslink as Marketing Coordinator. Both will report to Matt Gertz who recently joined Saleslink as Executive Vice President.
Chris Woodford, President of Saleslink states “Saleslink has a long and rich history assisting our key vendor partners with growing their sales and providing marketing guidance. Additional investment in marketing resources will greatly enhance our efforts on behalf of our vendors to the 17,000 plus independent hardware retailers we service”.
