Growth!

Festival anticipation comes with a special side of anxiety.

I’ve created fiber art for festivals for over ten years. I’ve gained some insight to my festival cycle, which begins to pull to a close for the year.

With less than three weeks until Finster Fest, I continue to make new items and put finishing touches on projects in progress.

Work on something, anything, every day for as many hours as possible. It all needs to be done.

Do I have enough? One more of those? Or four more of these? Or all of that? Will they like any of this?

Sometime in the next two weeks I’ll have that clarifying moment, when I know with certainty there’s not one more thing I can finish or make.

And then the festival days arrive.

All at once, the accumulated anticipation and anxiety release in a flood of high emotion and sensory overload.

It’s a sensation like no other. So, here I go again.
