The BER months are finally here, so I had a thought.... that it would be super fun to share one Fall recipe a day for the whole month of September.
Everything from main dishes, to side dishes, to salads and of course desserts... all Fall inspired ranging from homemade to semi-homemade.
If you stir it, it's homemade - right? 🤣
I know we are already 5 days in, so to catch up there may be a day or two that I will post more than one recipe. I hope y'all enjoy!!
So here we go:
Pumpkin Cake Recipe
-1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
-1/2 cup vegetable oil
-3/4 cup brown sugar
-1/2 cup granulated sugar
-2 large eggs
-2 tbsp sour cream
-1 1/4 cups pumpkin puree
-1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
-1 1/4 tsp baking powder
-3/4 tsp baking soda
-3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
*Sift the dry ingredients together into a large mixing bowl, then whisk the wet ingredients together in a separate bowl.
2.Gradually add the wet ingredients to the bowl of dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
3. Pour into a greased 9x9 pan, bake at 350° until toothpick comes out clean.
4. Once cool, cut out pumpkins using a cookie cutter to use in the cutout cake.
Use your favorite Pound Cake box mix:
5. Cover just the bottom of a loaf pan with pound cake batter, then place pumpkin cutouts upright into a greased loaf pan. Fill the rest of the pan with cake batter to cover the pumpkin cutouts. Bake in a 350° preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until fully baked.
7. Top with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles once cool. ❤️💛🍁🍂🌻🎃👢
