I am devastated....we have had to cancel our participation in the La Quinta Art Celebration this coming weekend.

Our Sprinter van decided to break down in the middle of the desert on the way there and the needed parts for our 20 year old vehicle are not readily available.
I am so sorry to miss this incredible event and all our very special patrons.

Right before we left, i wrote this to preview two of our upcoming pieces.....
As we commence our 50th year in business, our passion for innovation and dedication to craftsmanship remains unwavering. When asked about my favorite piece many years ago, my response has remained consistent – it's always the next one. Having just completed these two jackets made from all woven silk noil, lined with 30 momie weight silk, I'm left wondering how to surpass these masterpieces.

Happy Holidays to all our wonderful friends and patrons. The upcoming year marks a huge milestone for us….50 years in business. 1976-2026. I never planned to be in business this long! But it’s because of all of you and your love for what we do that we are still creating and loving the connection we have with each of you.
My mother gave me two pieces of advice when I started this business in 1976. She said…. “Make quality clothing that lasts a long time and offer it to your patrons at a reasonable price…and you will be in business a long time”. She has since passed, but I know she is smiling as we celebrate this event.

Advancing to the next project, I employ a method I term Reverse Shibori. While Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique known for creating intricate patterns on fabric by binding, stitching, folding, and clamping the material before dyeing, I am removing color rather than adding it.....hence Reverse Shibori. I am binding Indian Silk Sari fabric with rubber bands, ceramic pie weights, and docking bands, and then discharging it to produce a unique aesthetic. The fastidious binding process, often carried out over several months in the evenings, allows me to concentrate on the task. While awaiting the finished product, a completed garment section showcases the final fabric, and a prior piece illustrates its finished state in the last photo.

We are grateful to State College and the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts for their hospitality. Rodger and I cherish the time spent with old and new friends alike, exchanging life stories with those we care about deeply. Regrettably, we were so busy, we forgot to take photos! With one exception...a delightful picture taken with McKenna Blake, an exciting new musical talent to the Nashville, Tennessee community, featuring our matching attire. Dressing McKenna and her mother, Amy Carlson Blake, since her pr***en years has forged an enduring friendship, one that holds a special place in my heart.
