Big Life Update from the McGuires. New orders have been put on hold at FossilBluff.com - dont worry! If you have open orders, they’re being crafted will ship on time. Tentative reopen will be mid month after we get settleded back in and Molly is feeling better.
Some of you already know that our youngest, Molly, was diagnosed with scoliosis in October 2023, just before her 11th birthday. At the time, her spinal curve was already showing signs of severity—today, it measures about 55 degrees.
She wore a scoliosis brace diligently for nearly a year, hoping to slow the progression. But her doctors have called it an “aggressive” case, and by February 2025, surgery became the necessary next step.
We scheduled the operation for the start of summer break so Molly wouldn’t have to miss school. She’s now 12 years old and in the hands of an incredible team at Dell Children’s.
Surgery began at 7am and is expected to last until around noon (CST). She’s having a spinal fusion from T2 to T12, with two rods placed to support and straighten her spine.
Kiwe, Mia, and I are holding onto hope and each other as we wait. We welcome all your positive thoughts & prayer during this time.
We’ll be staying at the hospital for 2–3 days, and recovery at home should take about four weeks.
Thank you so much for the love, support, and guidance so many of you have offered along the way. This has already been a long road, but we see the light ahead—and we’re deeply grateful for everyone who’s helped Molly get here.
Sincerely & Fraternally,
Bro. McGuire
