Listen, we’ve been quiet on social media lately, and honestly, we’re okay with that.

We’re not gone. We’re just slowly building ways to stay connected that are more lasting than chasing likes. Yes, this platform has its moments, but it’s not where we want to build our community; it’s not where we want to invest our energy, feeding the algorithm and reminding you we exist.

We’d like to think you come into our shop because of a connection, not because we showed up in your feed at the right time. Your time is valuable, and we don’t want to take it up with one more scroll, swipe, or “let me just check the app real quick.” We’ll never get back the hours we spent scrolling and seeking engagement, and quite frankly, we’d rather be more intentional with our approach through thoughtful emails, a helpful text, or (wild idea) a real human conversation.

Sure, the irony is not lost on this post, which lives on the platform we’re side-eyeing. We get that. So if you’d like for us to keep you sporadically updated with a dose of endorph-puns, sign up for our newsletter or text messages. Just know we are still here and always rooting for your next mile.

P.S. If you’re a social media guru thinking, “I can help with that!”, bless your heart. You missed the point.

🎉 Eight Years of Running Together! 🎉

Eight years ago, we set out on a mission to create a run specialty store that not only provided the best products and service but also built a supportive and welcoming community for runners, walkers, and “just having funners”.

Today, as we celebrate Iowa Running Company’s 8-year anniversary, we’re feeling incredibly grateful. Whether you’ve stopped by for a new pair of shoes, joined us for a group run, or simply shared your love for the sport, we appreciate you more than we can say.

What started as a small specialty shop has grown into a community we cherish—a place where stories are shared, miles are logged, and friendships are formed. Your support has kept us moving forward, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Here’s to the next eight years of running, walking, and adventuring together!

Lordy, Lordy, look who’s 40! If you happen to bump into this hard-working, fun-loving dude today, wish that man a happy birthday! But here’s the thing; you probably won’t bump into him today because real G’s move in silence like lasagna. Happy birthday, Clifton!

Our shop will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We’ll be back at it on Thursday to see all of you who received the wrong item from your partner. Listen, we tried to talk them off the ledge and encourage a gift card, but they were insistent. All joking aside, words cannot describe how special it feels to be be under so many of your trees this Christmas. May this holiday season bring you good cheer and health throughout the coming year.

❄️ The cold never bothered us anyway. ❄️

Tonight is the night when we hit the streets and spread a little holiday cheer to a few of our neighbors. Yes, it’s cold, but layer up with that ugly sweater, and you’ll stay toasty throughout this caroling trot. We’ll meet at the shop tonight by 6 pm and take off shortly after. Lip-syncing is accepted, but all voices are beautiful when caroling. All paces welcome, no runners/singers left behind!

Black Friday is canceled! Lace up your kicks or grease those chains, and join us for our annual OutDoor Buster group run/walk/ride on Friday morning. When retail looks for an uptick in business, and Iowa Running Company close shop, opt outside, and host a free and easy does it run/walk/ride.
No registration necessary. Just show up, consume a little fresh air with us, and enjoy some pastries and hot beverages afterward.
