Awakening Festival Fans - Announcement.
We figured it was about time that we sent out a message regarding Awakening Festival and the future plans for the festival.

As many of you know, the last few years of Awakening Festival have been fairly difficult - financially, physically, logistically - you name it! Earlier this year, we decided that we needed to take a break from doing the festival. So... the long story short is that there will be no Awakening Music Festival 2015. While we know that God has called us all to the festival over the past 11 years, we believe that He is telling us to step back and pray.

We plan to maintain Awakening Ministries, Inc. as an active organization and we will keep you up to date on next steps regarding the festival.

Have a great summer, and keep the festival in your prayers. We are excited about what God has in store! If you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Awakening Ministries is a nonprofit 501 C3 ministry founded by two local couples. For the last 11 years, we have done our best to create an amazing festival that would be inspiring for everyone who attended, and we’ve done it using minimal resources. In spite of all of our efforts to cut costs, the festival budget outweighed our income by almost $10,000, which is a shortfall that falls on the two couples who run the ministry. We don’t have an individual, church or company that financially backs the festival, and everyone at Awakening Ministries is a volunteer and unpaid. We know God had made an impact on young people who have the festivals – this year and in the past. We believe that God has called us to do the festival and wants us to plant seeds of hope in the lives of young people in our area. This is our only focus. We’re asking you to help us in paying the remaining bills as well as giving us future support so that we can continue to hold the festival. Please pray about supporting the ministry and also spread the word to others. Thank you for your help!

I want to share something with everyone that happened to me on the morning of the festival. I was walking up near the front gate in the morning on the day of the festival long before the gates were to open and I was praying about the festival and was having a difficult time mentally. I was thinking about the difficulties that we were about to face that day with the rain coming and knowing financially we were under water. I was asking God to give me strength to endure the day and was asking Him why we are doing this and putting ourselves through this. I was by myself and just was struggling mentally and physically warn out. I looked down on the ground a saw this little notebook and I picked it up. I opened it up to see if there was a name in it or something to know who it belonged too. This is the first page in it and nothing else was written in it. It hit me like a ton of bricks and I broke down and just thought - Thank You God for the note - I needed it. I don't know who wrote it and where it came from, but who ever did it was meant for me and God used you to speak to me. Thank You. PS. I am keeping it!
