“We can always begin again.”

With a heavy heart but a clear mind, I’ve decided to take a break from Saint James for the time being. I’ve rewritten this post probably 9 times worrying that I’m being too open but so many of you have become more than customers over the past 4 years, that being transparent feels important.

I honestly feel like I’ve lost my creativity somewhere along the way. The rush to get new styles out every 2 weeks has pushed me to order things I don’t absolutely love. I started Saint James with the idea that every piece would be fun and unique and special and somewhere, I feel like I’ve lost that. It’s no longer what I imagined it would be. Styling pieces I don’t love is a harder job than you’d think and the word job has never been a word I used around getting dressed. Something has shifted and a break feels right, right now.

I know Saint James’ story is not finished but for now, we’re putting a bookmark in it.
